GOP Outreach event April 29
The LCRP Outreach committee will host a meet and greet with Ohio Senate Chief of State John Barron on April 29, 2025 at 6pm at Cumberland Trails Golf Club 8244 Columbia Rd SW Pataskala 43062. John W. Barron is the Chief of Staff and General Counsel for the Ohio Senate. In this role, he is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the Ohio Senate and all staff. He advises Senate members and staff on legal, legislative, communication and policy matters.
Prior to joining the Senate, John served as the Deputy Executive Director and General Counsel for the Ohio Casino Control Commission—the agency constitutionally and statutorily charged with ensuring the integrity of casino gaming in the State of Ohio. He has also served as the Chief Legal Counsel for the Ohio Senate, the Chief Legal Counsel for the Ohio Department of Development and the Lieutenant Governor, and the Deputy Chief Legal Counsel for the Ohio Governor.
John began his legal career as an Assistant Attorney General with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. During his tenure there, he was selected as the Simon Karas Fellow, a position that allowed him to work with the State Solicitor on major appellate issues.
Prior to starting with the Attorney General’s Office, John attended the the United States Air Force Academy and The Ohio State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor-and completed S.E.R.E. Survival School, Freefall Parachute School, and the Soaring/Glider Program.
